Breast cancer
Breast cancer can be easily diagnosed if regular breast ultrasound and mammogram are performed. Every woman over the age of 40 should get mammograms once in two years and women over the age of 50 should perform this type of screening annually. For the younger population over the age of 20, regular breast ultrasound is recommended.
Cervical cancer
Cervical cancer can be diagnosed with a Pap test. The goal of the preventive gynecological examinations is to detect changes in the cervix before a malignant disease is developed. The earlier the diagnosis, the greater the chances of recovery. In the initial stages, the disease often shows no symptoms. Every woman is recommended to perform annual gynecological examination including Pap test and ultrasound.
Prostate cancer
It is very important to listen to the advice of the physicians and depending on the age, to do regular screening tests. One of the most important preventive screenings that every male should perform is prostate examination. Prostate and colon cancer, are associated with age and mainly develop in men over the age of 50. Prostate annual screening include the Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) Test, rectal examination and ultrasound.
Colorectal cancer
Colorectal cancer screening is very important for men and women over 50 years. This screening include fecal occult blood testing and colonoscopy.
